Agent Profile - Dianne Alley

Experience:
My real estate career began in San Antonio in the mid-80s when we were stationed at Randolph AFB; I knew from the start it was something that would hold my attention as a challenging, fun career. The inevitable AF transfer occurred, and I eventually resumed the business in the Phoenix area in 1997. I earned the “Rookie of the Year” award, GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designations; and received “e-Pro” certification in 1998, realizing that real estate was fast going the way of the internet.  Fast forward to Austin and resumption of my real estate career in Texas: the world of real estate has become increasingly complex, subject to more legalities than ever, affected by the Green movement, and dependent on ever-expanding technology. My thirst for continuing education in the real estate arena continues—from the latest technology to legal issues, so that I can provide my clients with the best possible guidance.  I studied psychology and business management in college, earning a BA and MA, and believe one can never have enough education, whether formal or informal.
Mine has been a “moving” experience: as an Air Force “brat” and AF spouse, and on my own, I’ve moved several dozen times, from Connecticut where I was born, to Austin, where I’ve lived for three years. Madrid, Spain; Okinawa, Japan; and many cities in several states, from New York to California and in-between have been home, but I’m most proud to live in this gem of a city, to be a Texan by choice. Family time with my kids is my greatest pleasure; one son lives here in Austin, and my daughter is moving here soon, having been bit by the Austin bug. Other enjoyments/passions: yoga, which has enhanced my well-being for 15+ years; reading; walks around Town Lake; good strong coffee at any of Austin’s great java spots; and travel—day trips or international—the wanderlust remains.

Client Philosophy:
Honesty, integrity, professionalism at all times, and placing the client’s interests above all others are standards I set for myself so that my clients can count on the utmost in service.  And, in keeping with the Beyond the Move philosophy, I’ll remain a valuable resource after the transaction has closed.
Understanding what the client is going through: countless military and personal moves throughout my life have given me a strong empathy for what the client experiences. It’s an exciting time, usually, but stressful—emotions possibly on a roller coaster ride. My clients can trust that I’m there to listen—whether it’s about criteria for that perfect home, concerns about an inspection, or anxiety about moving to a strange new city.
My aim is for my clients to feel they are my ONLY client. One day in Arizona as a new agent I was driving with a buyer client to show her homes; she commented that I made her feel like my only client. That, of course, meant a lot and I told her one of my goals is to make every client feel like my only client.  To myself I chuckled because at that point as a new agent she WAS my only client! Which brings me to my last point: no matter how serious the process, I believe there should be an element of fun and levity to balance it all out. My clients will always see a smile on my face and a positive outlook…for the trust they place in me and the investment they are making, that’s the least I can do.
